The Rafah Crossing opens today, and starting tomorrow, people will be able to enter and exit through it. In the first phase, entry is allowed only for Palestinians who left during the war. Exit is permitted for patients who need treatment outside Gaza.
Israel still monitors the crossing. Everyone entering needs to obtain approval. After entering, they must pass through an Israeli checkpoint. Israel will also monitor remotely, using cameras, those exiting through the crossing.
The technocratic government of Gaza is expected to enter soon through the Rafah Crossing. They will replace Hamas in the day-to-day management of Gaza.
