What our users are saying

Reviews from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store

Extremely helpful and easy to use - I’ve tried many resources for improving my reading and vocabulary. This app makes it easy and enjoyable. They also have cool songs that I have tried to learn from other websites, but the process here is so streamlined and never frustrating. The nikkudot, translation, recordings and the quizzes make this a very high value app for me.

Perfect - Excellent app for learning and especially improving your Hebrew… it has everything: with or without vowels, with or without word-for-word or sentence-by-sentence translation, in uppercase or cursive, through texts or songs. It’s well worth the price… For me, it’s like a game—except I’m learning.

Relevant, easy to use, and enjoyable - Amazing! Most intuitive, practical, and results oriented language app I’ve ever used. Very helpful to have the audio. My conversational skills have really improved.

Luna_Mobile

An amazing app - This app has been very well planned and thought about. It has news articles that are just long enough to consolidate Hebrew learning but also has a range of options from beginner to expert. The audio provides the opportunity to hear words and phrases as many times as you want which is great. Also there is the option to tune nikkuds on or off. There are songs as well to listen to following Hebrew lyrics. Customer service is really person centred and helpful. This is a really great affordable app with real people caring about their product. I fully recommend it.

Frequently Asked Question

  • Who is Dvash for?

Dvash is for learners who already know some Hebrew and want to reach comfortable, real-world reading and conversation. Beginners who are just starting out can use Dvash as well—look for the Level 1 stories in our library.

  • What kind of content does Dvash offer?

Dvash is updated regularly with concise stories about current events, Israeli history and culture, and everyday life. Each article is rated by difficulty (Levels 1–4). You'll also find a wide range of Israeli songs, each with line-by-line translation and synced audio.

  • What are the four Dvash levels?

In the CEFR A1–C2 classification, level 1 is roughly A1–A2. Level 2 is A2–B1 (usually leaning more toward B1). Level 3 matches B2, and Level 4 covers C1–C2.

  • How should I use Dvash?

The most important thing is regular interaction with Hebrew—and to enjoy the process! Choose an article that interests you and matches your level. Read it while translating new words. Then, listen to the article several times, until you understand it comfortably. Repetition is key. Listening multiple times helps your mind adapt to the language. Finish by taking the vocab quiz for the article. Follow this process consistently and you'll see your vocabulary and comprehension improve quickly.

  • Can I save words for later practice?

Yes! When you tap any word in an article, you'll see its translation, hear its audio, and can add it to your personal vocabulary list. This lets you review and practice the word later using our spaced repetition system.

  • What is spaced repetition?

Spaced repetition is a learning technique that helps you remember words for the long term. Words you've saved will reappear in practice sessions at scientifically chosen intervals—just before you're likely to forget them. This makes learning more efficient and helps you build a lasting vocabulary.

  • Should I save all unfamiliar words?

Not necessarily. You can learn a lot just by reading and listening repeatedly. Important words will come up again, so you'll pick them up naturally. But if a word is especially tricky to remember, or you want to be sure you don't forget it, add it to your saved list. Spaced repetition will help you remember it for good.
