The oldest Holocaust survivor in Israel passed away at age 107

Yehuda Aharon Widavski, a Holocaust survivor who survived Auschwitz, died at the age of 107.
He was the oldest Holocaust survivor in Israel.
Widavski was born in Poland in 1919.

During the Holocaust, he lost most of his family, but he and his brother survived. In 1950, he immigrated to Israel and moved to live in Tel Aviv.
Since 1978, he worked for years to find Jewish cemeteries in Poland and restore them. With his help, more than 3,000 graves were restored.
In 2012, he lit a torch at the Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony.
In the past, Widavski said: "My revenge on the Nazis is that they lost - and we have the State of Israel."
