According to U.S. authorities, he planned attacks against Jews in New York. One of the plans was particularly horrific. A person in a Santa Claus costume was supposed to distribute poisoned candies to children. Chikvishvili said the targets should be Jewish schools and Jewish children in Brooklyn.
According to investigators, Chikvishvili ran a neo-Nazi group online. His online alias was Commander Butcher. The group encouraged violence against Jews, Black people, and other minority groups. It recruited activists in the United States via the internet.
The FBI captured Chikvishvili using an undercover agent. The agent said he wanted to join the organization. Chikvishvili told him about plans for attacks. He wrote that he wanted to see Jewish children dead.
Chikvishvili was arrested in Moldova. He was later extradited to the United States. He confessed to the charges against him and has now received a heavy prison sentence.
