Chef Eyal Shani sparked a controversy online due to hummus he prepared with his hands

The Israeli chef Eyal Shani is opening a new kosher restaurant in Los Angeles in the coming days.
At an event ahead of the opening, he prepared a giant tray of hummus.
Shani spread and mixed the hummus with his bare hands, and also added garlic and lemon sauce with his hands.

His video went viral online and received tens of thousands of views. Many commented that it was disgusting and unhygienic.
Others defended Shani, saying that chefs touch food with their hands all the time. In their opinion, as long as hands are washed and hygiene is maintained, there is no issue.
