On the fifth day of the ceasefire with Iran, talks between the United States and Iran in Pakistan ended without an agreement.
US Vice President J.D. Vance said there were long and serious talks, but Iran did not accept Washington's terms.
He announced that the American delegation is returning to the United States without an agreement.
Vance also said that the main point of contention is Iran's refusal to give up its nuclear program.
A spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry explained that an understanding had been reached on several issues, but disagreements remained on two or three important topics.

He stressed that diplomacy is not over and that contacts with Pakistan and other countries in the region will continue. A senior Iranian official said: 'Excessive demands by the US prevented an agreement.' Iran is not in a hurry to return to negotiations, and as long as the United States does not agree to a reasonable deal, there will be no change in the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
