A vehicle collided with the door of the Chabad World Center – suspected hate crime

A vehicle collided several times with the entrance door of the Chabad World Center in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York.
The police arrested the driver.
There were no injuries.
Officers guarding the location heard the sounds of the collision.

They saw the vehicle approach, reverse, and return again toward the door. This happened several times. They quickly arrested the driver.
A bomb squad team inspected the vehicle. They did not find any explosives or weapons in it. It is currently unclear if the driver has any connection to organized terrorism.
The Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, arrived at the scene. He described the incident as "shocking." He said that there is no place in New York for antisemitism or harm to Jewish communities.
The police increased security around houses of worship in the city.
