New findings from the Second Temple period were discovered in Israel

Archaeologists discovered new findings in Israel at a place called 'Ancient Shiloh.'
They were uncovered during excavations conducted in recent days.
The findings date to the Second Temple period.
Among the findings were a large ritual bath, cooking utensils, and a rare shell of a murex snail.

A special dye was historically produced from this snail. It was used, among other things, for making fringes (tzitzit) and dyeing parts of the High Priest's garments.
Several archaeologists excavated the findings. Teenagers also participated in the work.
The discovery comes just days before Tisha B'Av. This is the day that commemorates the destruction of the Second Temple. Researchers say the findings help to learn about life in the area during that period. They also strengthen historical knowledge.
