The foreign minister of Colombia will attend the ceremony. Israel's foreign minister, Gideon Sa'ar, will also participate.
Colombia will be the tenth country with an embassy in Jerusalem.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is planning a special celebration. The celebration will have a South American style.
But there is also criticism about the celebration. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hired an external company to organize it. The celebration will cost tens of thousands of shekels.
Employees in the ministry are asking if this expense is necessary. The ministry says this approach saves money. But not everyone agrees.
